Professional learning in education has intensified and become increasingly commercial and standardized in response to mandated policies and accountability measures across all education sectors. Tensions now surface for VA educators and their professional learning communities'. Focus is on the quantification of all educational achievements. Increasingly the outcomes-driven educational landscape marginalizes a Visual Art curriculum driven by creativity and individualized student leaning for contemporary social praxis.
