Chronic inflammatory disease as an outcome of antigen-host interaction: with special reference to the mucosal immune system

This thesis includes analysis of interaction between environmental and endogenous antigen with the host response, in a series of disease entities, to provide understanding of pathogenesis of human disease, ranging from identification of antigen to dissection of T cell responses. Both diagnostic tests and innovative therapy follow. The particular focus is on the mucosal immune system.
