Interim report on the effectiveness of dietary interventions for children and adolescents with overweight and obesity: prepared for the World Health Organization

The purpose of this report is to develop a greater understanding of the characteristics and effectiveness of contemporary dietary interventions that achieve dietary improvements and relative weight reduction in children and adolescents with overweight or obesity. Data collected for a systematic review (in preparation), by the international DiET-CO consortium, on the dietetic management of children and adolescents with overweight and obesity, was considered in developing the preliminary recommendations in this report. The systematic review is an update of an existing series of reviews conducted by members of the consortium.
