Women are everyday targets of discrimination, exploitation, and violence in Bangladesh. Significant and appropriate literature on women on violence in Bangladesh published between 1981 and 2020 was carried out through a critical review. According to BBS, 2016, Bangladesh has experienced very high rates of intimate partner violence (IPV) of 54% of ever married women informed lifetime sexual and physical IPV performed by their husbands and 27% notified such IPV occurred in the last 12 months and 11% of ever married women informed economic IPV in their lifespan. Above all Bangladesh should immediately translate its health policies and interventions on women’s empowerment into action to benefit the people of this country.
