Thomas Moore’s Care of the Soul, Lucy Lippard’s Lure of the Local and Gaston Bachelard’s The Poetics of Space, while written from different perspectives, share resonance in their consideration of thinking about everyday life, the spaces we inhabit and the importance of imagination. When these three factors come together it is possible to envision the world anew with greater heart, soul and humanity. This paper aims to creatively engage the reader and stimulate thinking about the kind of world we prefer to live in through combining images and words relating to the spaces we inhabit.
