In this article, the authors describe the Coast-to-Coast Seminar Series, a pan-Canadian scientific event that has been running since 2005. A short history of the series and a listing of the various stages of its development and related challenges in communicating complex scientific topics to audiences at a number of remote sites is provided. In particular, the authors revisit the original goals of the series and discuss in detail its actual outcomes. They finish by mentioning some present and future applications of their experience as organizers of the series.
