The article discusses the international organisation of professional social work to improve awareness of social workers in Australia and New Zealand as to how they might participate in international discussions and debates. It notes that the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) and the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) are the most prominent international social work organisations. It notes that both international social work organisations are sustained financially by membership fees and conference proceeds.
