The current cultural landscape lacks adequate representation of contemporary cultural chamber works created by First Nations people and overlook the use of First Nations instrument the clapsticks. The research aim is to resurface this instrument within the field of practice-based contemporary orchestral composition. The work sets a new benchmark for the field, and informs composers as to how the clapsticks can be applied when composing music for contemporary orchestral instruments.
