Airflow is a work for oboe and interactive system which blurs the boundaries between instrumental performance, gestural interaction and dance. The physical gestures of live performance is an emerging research area made possible by developments in motion capture and tracking. In this research, performer gestures take on a primary role in the work, which explores relationships between acoustic and processed sound, gestures and image.
