We provide an overview of recent progress regarding the role of sampling in the study of signals that are in the image of a bandpass or multiband frequency limiting operation and have most of their energies concentrated in a given time interval. We finish considering a means to approximate essentially time-limited bandpass signals. In this case we present a new phase-locking metric that arises in the study of EEG signals.
