The Children’s Art Pavilion was constructed in 1996 as a temporary art space at the Newcastle Region Art Gallery. In 2012, the performance of its deconstruction was documented in a series of images that detailed how, through obsolescence, the Art Pavilion had become public space enclosed. As its enclosed space was released to the void of the public street, the transcendence of its original architectural function was fleetingly monumentalised through the photographic image.
